7 tons of coal make 1 ton fat, whereas you need to sell over 70 tons of coal, to the export proceeds to buy a ton of fat on the world market.

06. man helps himself further it is help - today - with little funding and A lot of skill, in town and country.
Still the school pushes this boy from a small town in Upper Bavaria, but in his spare time, he is already the freight forwarder of the place - everywhere appreciated and most welcome. Eight years ago, during the war, he started his business on a small scale. His father, a haulier was drafted at that time. The efficient small freight forwarder has bought himself now a carriage and two horses of his savings over four years. And he has even some money on the savings bank.
You can see: here one helps himself even - and others with this!
A different kind of self-help. In Austria were roofers on the idea of using empty tin cans, today lying around on the trash heap. You cut them, just bend the sheet and now used as roofing.
A lacquer coating protects against rust. Admittedly, it is only a brick replacement. But it's better than a defective roof, through which the rain drips.
And now to a literal burning problem, how to get to something smokable?
This is a kind of self-help. They are found quite often. Who moves among the planters and breeds his own herbs is better. To plant it, where it is possible: in humble boxes or small plantations. And each own farmer has his own recipes and secrets of drying, fermentation and of making tasty. A friendly Walker takes part, - but unfortunately turns out as Commissioner of the tax office. The other is deaf affiliated. Namely the word 'Tax'. But he has to pay. Anyway, if he has grown plants above a certain number.
At the end of a long chain of effort and work is finally the dream enjoyment: a pipe self-construction, brand: "forget me not."

Until now this by-product was not used. 7 tons of coal give 1 ton of fat - - while 70 tons of coal have to be exported in order to buy one ton of fat on the world markets. The inventor, Dr. Imhausen, offers a sample. Fettsaeure, the same by-product of coal, together with vegetable or animal fats, is used to make soap. Until butter-production can be started the Fettsaeure is used in the soap factories. The soap-puly leaves the press, is separated, molded and packed. This soap is allocated to miners first. 06. They Help Themselves
To-day, in town and in country people help themselves with what means they have - - and plenty of ingenuity. His father, a carter, was in the army. Meanwhile this industrious chap has bought a vehicle and two horses from his 4-years-profits. And he also has some money on the bank. You see, here a man helpshimself - - and with that he helps other people, too.
Another way of resolving problems: in Austria roof tilers had the idea of using empty cans for roofing. The cans are cut [...] flattened and then fastened to the roof. Paint is applied against rust. It is only a make-shift device but better than having rain dropping into the house.
And now a "burning" problem: how to get tobacco? This is one way - and an often used one. But the ones who grow their own tobacco have a much better time. Tobacco grows wherever you want it. Every tobacco planter has his own secret recipies of drying and preparing tobacco.
A friendly man takes an interest in your tobacco garden - but, alas, he is an officer of the tax bureau, When the gardener hears "tax" he gets hard of hearing.
After a long and troublesome process finally the first pipe of "forget-me-not-home-grown" can be enjoyed.
