01. a German journalist touring America the Berlin Editor Erik Reger attended as first German journalist after the war the United States. Purpose of the trip was an in-depth study of reporting and public relations in the United States (Reger, in the picture on the right). 01. A German Journalist Visits America
Erik Reger, a Berlin journalist, was the first newspaper man to visit the USA after the war. He studied journalism and presswork there, visited Publishing houses and newspaper establishments.
In Washington he saw the exhibition of "Masterpieces of German Art." Reger himself suggested a travelling show of these paintings for the benefit of poor German children, which met with great success. In the Programme "Die Stimme Amerikas" Erik Reger is regularly on the air to give hisimpressions of America. Here he interviews the daughter of Burgomaster Goerdeler, who was executed after the outrage of July 20. Miss Goerdeler is studying at an American university.

a. Canoeing, Karlsruhe
5.000 fans saw the Wurttemberg-Baden Canoe Championship. Wiesbaden Canoe Club won this race. The 4-man-canoe race for youths. Winning team was the Canoe Club "Rheinbrüder" Karlsruhe, which scored a total of 15 victories and gained 9 titles.

b. Horse-Race, Tokio
The Great Prize of Tokio was a big event in Japan. 50,000 spectators saw a thrilling competition. The winner won 10,000 Dollars in cash. "This tip was alright."

03. "People Are Talking About - - "
One of to-day's great political mysteries is the sudden split between Jugoslavia and Soviet Russia. Marshall Tito, Chief of State of Jugoslavia, was accused by Moskow of abandoning basic principles of U.S.S.R. policy. Former pictures show Marshall Tito in Prague at a visit to Benesch. Kominform, the Communist Information Office, fired the Jugoslav Communist Party out of their union.
Marshall Tito denied the accusations and accused the U.S.S.R, instead. This is the first crack in the Balkan Block.

05. The Berlin Crisis
About every 10 minute .a plane with food stuffs takes off for Berlin. The same is seen at American Rhein-Main-Airfield near Frankfurt. Here tons of food are loaded. Every few minutes plane after plane takes off. [...] planes were flown to Germany from America for this services. American Airfield Tempelhof and British Airfield Gatow near Berlin are the landing places. From Jane 26th to July 4th more than 3300 tons of food were flown to Berlin. More than 1 million kilometers were covered. The feeding of Berlin's Western Sectors is assured.
