40.000 Children Find Their Parents

Two stranded kids - two out of thousands. About 65,000 children have been separated from their parents during and after the war. The Red Cross Children Search Service has accomplished decisive work. The case of the two Schramm kids is typical of many others. This family was separated in May 1945. The children went to Polish farmers, the parents were brought into a collecting camp. During the later banishment, the parents as well as the children were sent to Western Germany - without knowing about each other. The Search Service was able to reunite the parents with their children. 40.000 children were given back to their parents up to now, due to the untiring work of the Red Cross Search Service ... but there are still 25,000 more waiting ...
