The Government Declaration was an impressive commitment of the German people to the German reunification. Federal Chancellor Dr. Adenauer called on the Soviet zones Government the proposal of secret, free and total German elections with a clear "Yes or"No"to comment on.

02. Mayor Reuter in United States Professor Ernst Reuter, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, spoke on a 2-week lecture tour in the United States over European, German and Berlin problems. He followed an invitation of the large organization of "Americans for democratic action". Mayor Reuter was received by President Truman and met with numerous personalities of the American Government, economy and of public life, including with Mr. Marshall and Mr. foster, the administrator of the Marshall plan, with General Clay and many others. He spoke to Senators, students, workers, and millions of American listeners. The abundance of questions that were directed from all sides to Mayor Reuter gave him the certainty that the whole American people followed the German multiple problems with burning interest. Returning to Berlin, said Professor Reuter: original sound: "I think that the fact that Berlin so brave and so steadfastly has held, will help us, because America will let anyone down, who is determined to help."

In course of a 2 weeks lecture tour through the United States, Professor Ernst Reuter, Burgomaster of Berlin, spoke about European, German and Berlin problems. He spoke by invitation of the big organisation "Americans for Democratic Action". Burgomaster Reuter was received by President Truman and met numerous personalities of the American Government, economy and public life, among them Mr. Marshall, Mr. Foster the administrator of the Marshall Plan, General Clay, and many others. He spoke before Senators, students, workers and millions of listeners. The questions which were addressed to him from all sides made him certain that the whole American people follow the various German problems with eager interest. Returned to Berlin, Prof. Reuter said: Original Sound "I believe that the fact that because Berlin was so brave and stood firm will help us because America does not leave anybody in the lurch who is determined to help himself."

a. Fair, Frankfurt
Together with numerous German exhibitors, 1350 foreign firms exhibited at the Frankfurt Spring Fair 1951. Already shortly after the opening, many contracts were signed.

b. First draught from Salvator Beer
The beer loving Munich celebrated the first tapping of the celebrated Salvator beer. Friar Barnabas, the beer loving monk, makes the round of the thirsty throats and souls. The signal for the first tap is given and the first 1.000 liters pour into the steins. The burgomaster of Munich drinks from the stein of honour. 80 year old Gustl Waldau is present, too.

c. ERP Posters by Children
116.000 children from Western Germany competed in the big poster competition for ERP. The 600 best works which show the meaning and the purpose of Marshall Plan help were exhibited in Frankfurt. The 4 best drawings of the children will compete in the European competition in Paris.

d. Toy Exhibition, Nuremberg
Everything twirls - everything moves, that is the motto of the Second German Toy Exhibition at Nuremberg. It shows plenty of new and unusual toys. A paradise for children, gadget-lovers and buyers from all over the world.

04. East-Zone Whispering
They whisper again ... in the Soviet Zone. Every day a new joke which is characteristic of the situation behind the Iron Curtain. Here is one of the latest: One man tells the other always whispering --: An artful dodger got into the new East Ministry for Propaganda, into the chic Eisler Palais. It stinks of money thinks Genosse Burglar. Quick, into the safe and out with the cash-box and there he goes. Now for the big money! What is this? "Complete result of the Soviet Zone elections in 1952."

05. Newsflashes from Everywhere

a. Training Apparatur for Jet Pilots
A training apparatus for pilots of American jet plans. The cadet learns to be tossed into the air by an elevator which goes up with a speed of 60 MPH. It is an exercise to save their lives. And this is the practical application: if the plane is disabled, the pilot pushes a button. The apparatus tosses him out of the plane flying with supersonic speed and enables a normal landing by parachute.

b. Spring in London's Zoo
Spring cleaning in London's Zoo. The winter fur is removed. Cleaned and polished, the small and big ones wait for the sun and the public. The elefant's thick skin can only be rinsed by a whetstone.

A two round-fight of Conny Rux against the French Heavy weight Lefranc in the Munich Winterhalle. After a short study of his opponent Conny Rux starts to attack. Lefranc goes down for the first time. Then for the second and third time. After 4 minutes Lefranc gives up. The spectators were disappointed, but cheered the winner Conny Rux.

b. Football 1. FC Nürnberg vs. VfR Mannheim
For the first time in this season VfR Mannheim was beaten on its own ground. In a great game the master was forced into the defensive by the 1. FC Nürnberg (dark dress). The 20.000 spectators saw a master attack of the Nürnbergers. In the 20th minute, the Club shot the leading goal. 3 minutes later, Mannheim could equalize. In the second half the Nürnbergers took the lead. They made masterly combinations and won with 4:1.
