In Munich, "Radio Free Europe" inaugurated a new radio station for broadcasting to Hungary. During a 12-hour daily program, the truth about Hungary and the free nations of the world will be revealed to the Hungarians. e. Future Citizens
These volunteers for the US Army are refugees from Hungary, Poland, Latvia, Roumania, Russia and Czecho-Slovakia. As enemies of Communism, they volunteered for the US Army and left Bremerhaven to undergo military training in the US. After a period of service they will become eligable for American citizenship.

a. Motor-Paced Bicycle Race, Bonn
At Bonn's Post Stadium, two motor-paced bicycle races were run. 30 and 50 kilometers had to be covered. The race between ex-World-Champion Walter Lohmann, Germany, and World Champion Pronk, Netherlands, was a sharp duel between these two champions. It covered 50 kilometers. Lohmann was defeated by Pronk by only 2 meters. World Champion Pronk won both races.

b. Football: Werder Bremen vs. HSV Hamburg
In Hamburg, Werder Bremen (white shirts) played against the Hamburg Sportverein. Both teams fighted doggedly. After 5 minutes, Werder shot the first goal. One minute later: a shot by Harden HSV. The referee decides: goal! That was the beginning of Werder's defeat. The Hamburgers became more and more superior. A second goal for Hamburg. The game ended with 4:1 for the Hamburger Sportverein.
