a. Davis Cup, Australia
In Sydney, the teams of the US and Australia met for the final of the Davis Cup tournaments. The heroic persistence of Capt. Carlsen will become an unforgotten event in the history of navigation. The drama of the "Flying Enterprise", heavily damaged by a hurricane whose fate was anxiously watched for 13, days by the whole world, came to an end.
