30. Jahrestag der Inbetriebnahme des ersten energieautarken Solarhauses (30.10.1992)
Vor 30 Jahren wird in Freiburg im Breisgau das erste energieautarke Solarhaus Deutschlands eingeweiht. Es ist ein Modellprojekt des ortsansässigen Fraunhofer-Instituts für Solare Energiesysteme (ISE) um die Tragfähigkeit eines solchen Konzepts in Mitteleuropa zu erproben.
Auf dem von der Stadt Freiburg in einem Industriegebiet zur Verfügung gestellten Grundstück wurde dafür ein zweigeschossiges Wohnhaus errichtet, das weder ans Stromnetz angeschlossen ist noch über eine konventionelle Heizung verfügt. Stattdessen soll es seinen gesamten Energiebedarf durch die photovoltaische und thermische Nutzung der Sonnenenergie decken. Zu diesem Zweck ist das Gebäude zum einen mit Sonnenkollektoren, Solarzellen und einem Wasserstofftank für Warmwasserbereitung, Stromerzeugung und Energiespeicherung ausgerüstet.
Zum anderen verfügt es über eine Fassade aus wärmespeicherndem Mauerwerk und einer davorliegenden transparenten Wärmedämmung. Diese besteht aus kleinen Kunststoffröhren, die Sonnenenergie aufnehmen und die dahinterliegende, schwarz gestrichene Kalksteinwand erwärmen, die die von ihr gespeicherte Wärme wiederum nach innen abgibt.
Während der Testphase wird das Nullenergiehaus mit 145 Quadratmetern Fläche von einem seiner Konstrukteure und seiner Familie als „Versuchskaninchen“ bewohnt. Fast täglich sind auch Techniker:innen oder Wissenschaftler:innen zu Wartungs- und Studienzwecken vor Ort. Nach zwei Jahren wird das Experiment mit dem damals sensationellen Ergebnis beendet, dass es technisch möglich ist, bei der Strom- und Wärmeversorgung eines Hauses ohne fossile Energieträger auszukommen.
In Zeiten knapper Ressourcen und steigender Kosten gewinnt die Nutzung regenerativer Energiequellen aktuell wieder an Bedeutung.
